Felt pen colouring

Felt pens have a good opacity but unfortunately you often can't make an even surface. With a bit practice and skill you may use the stripes for your aims (e.g. metal reflections or the red belt)

Coloured crayon

Colouring with crayons gives the objects a texture which can be combined with a frottage.

Acrylic robo

The combination of blazing colours with ink often causes strong effects. Unfortunately my acrylic colours seem to be quite old, so I wasn't able to paint an even blue surface. I guess I have to buy some new tubes...

Finally, after 2 weeks of busy learning I had time to draw something. Christmas holidays are coming soon, so posts will again come more frequently.

Trooper sketches

Quick sketches made with photoshop. The trooper on the right's layer intensity has been set on 40%. Then I added some layers with the attribute "multiply" and coloured the sketch. I'd advise you to paint every new colour sheme (here for example the red tunic) on a separate layer so you can change colour quickly with "Ctrl+U" if you don't like it anymore.

Ballpens are a beatiful medium for drawing. The smoothly graduation of colour is possible but the picture still has enough contrast to catch one's eye

Perspective is important

perspective excercises are important, as they make your drawings more miscellaneous. isn't it boring to have a one layered scene in every panel?

Do you hear the melody?

Just watched some Sergio Leone scenes. Quite impressive again and again...
If you want to improve the tension in your comics watch some (famous) movies and study their use of perspective.
